Madrid, July 13, 2026 – Greening reinforces its commitment to renewable energy with the launch of TWiNE, its new platform dedicated to the integrated development of biomethane projects in Spain. Through this initiative, the company expands its activity into renewable gases, a technology set to play a key role in decarbonization, the circular economy, and Europe’s energy security.
TWiNE was created to transform organic and agricultural waste into biomethane, a renewable gas fully compatible with the existing natural gas infrastructure and widely recognized as one of the cornerstones of the transition towards a more sustainable and energy-independent system.
“With TWiNE, we are expanding our commitment to renewable energy through a specialized platform that will enable us to drive biomethane development in Spain and turn its enormous potential into real projects,” said Pablo Otín, CEO of Greening.
A platform to accelerate biomethane development
TWiNE has been conceived as an industrial platform that integrates every critical stage of biomethane project development within a single structure. Its model enables the complete management of each asset, from opportunity identification through to construction readiness and operation.
The company manages in-house every key phase of development, including feedstock sourcing and securing through agreements with livestock farmers, agricultural producers and waste management companies, strategic site selection, environmental and administrative permitting, gas grid connection engineering, and the technical development of projects until they reach Ready to Build (RTB) status.
Thanks to this integrated approach, TWiNE optimizes development timelines, mitigates project risks, and delivers robust, scalable assets that are fully prepared for execution.
The platform currently manages a broad portfolio of projects strategically located across Spain, with 17 projects already at an advanced stage of development, positioning TWiNE among the country’s leading biomethane development platforms.
Spain: a strategic market for biomethane
Spain has one of Europe’s highest biomethane production potentials thanks to its abundant agricultural and livestock residues, agro-industrial by-products, and organic waste, as well as its well-established gas infrastructure capable of integrating renewable gas into the existing network.
European regulatory initiatives such as REPowerEU and the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III) identify biomethane as one of the priority technologies for advancing a cleaner energy model, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and strengthening Europe’s energy autonomy.
Against this backdrop, TWiNE aims to become a leading player in the development of biomethane projects by building a scalable platform with a long-term industrial vision.
A model built on collaboration and impact
The development of biomethane projects requires close collaboration across the entire value chain. For this reason, TWiNE works alongside livestock and agricultural producers, waste management companies, landowners, public administrations, industrial partners, and investors to develop projects tailored to the specific needs of each region.
Every project is designed to generate positive impact from three complementary perspectives: energy, environmental, and socio-economic. By recovering value from organic waste, TWiNE contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting the circular economy, stimulating rural development through investment and quality employment, and strengthening energy security by producing renewable gas locally.
With the launch of TWiNE, Greening continues to advance its technology diversification strategy by incorporating biomethane as a new business line, further accelerating the energy transition while delivering renewable solutions that create lasting value for communities, industry, and society.
